54th Annual Meeting of the Narrow River Preservation Association Annual Meeting, Oct. 1.
The meeting is from 6pm to 8pm, with the first hour being light refreshments and a social hour. All are welcome to join NRPA’s Board of Directors as they provide updates on the Narrow River
Keynote speaker Katherine Thompson, Ph.D. student in Biological Oceanography, URI GSO, will present the findings from their summer research which examined effects of stormwater Best Management Practices on fecal bacterial levels in the Narrow River. The project includes geospatial visualizations of data from the NRPA’s River Watch Monitoring program, providing an intuitive and actionable view of river water quality changes.
Also speaking is Jane Hennedy, Site Manager of Casey Farm, presenting “Casey Farm: A Case Study in Climate Action Planning”
NRPA will present the new Board of Directors. NRPA President Veronica M. Berounsky PhD will present the W.E.R. Memorial Friend of the River Award, and a raffle for the kayak donated by Narrow River Kayaks will be held.
Meeting will be held at the Coastal Institute Auditorium 218 South Ferry Road in Narragansett.
